The 2008 Qinghai International Halal Food Festival is a newly-added supporting event for this fair. With the theme of "Exhibiting, tasting and Enjoying", this festival adopts various folk exchanges and entertaining activities to create festival atmosphere, such as Parade for various typical products (models) made by Halal Food Companies in 6 Hui and Sala Ethic Minority counties and districts and the northwest region; Fixed-point exhibitions; Food Tasting; Small-sized Art shows in squares and streets.

1. Date and Venue

Details are as follows:
1. Date and Venue
　　Date:  Oct. 11th--12th 2008
　　Parade is hosted in Ximen Xining and Huangguang.
　　Other exhibitions are located on the main Halal Food Streets in Chengzhong District and Chengdong District, Xining City.
2. Theme
　　With the theme of "Exhibiting, Tasting and Enjoying", this fair aims at displaying delicious Halal Food, promoting brand products and boosting food market. Providing Muslim foods for more tourists and the public can facilitate them to share and experience the traditional culture of Muslim foods.
3. Main activities
　　1) Parade: Provinces, states, cities, administrative offices and autonomous counties and districts will be invited to take part in the parade from 10:00 to 14:00 on Oct 11th. With the forms of Halal Food Models show, ethic garment square and Muslin culture square carried by floats and flat cars, the parade will start from Ximenkou, through Dashizi, Dongguan, and arrive at Xining Building, lasting two and half hours.
　　2) The 2nd Halal Food Culinary Art Competition will be convened on Huade Commerce Pedestrian Street, Shuijing Lane, Xining.
　　3) Organized in the Fantastic Stone Garden Dazhong Shopping Mall, Xining City, the Culture Festival consists Muslim Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition, Fantastic Stone Exhibition, Bonsai, Paper-cutting and Art and crafts Exhibitions. 
　　4) Muslim Costume Exhibition and Performances: Muslim teams from Xinjiang and Gansu Provinces are invited to attend this activity. In addition, teams from non-Muslim regions are also welcomed. The exhibition and performances is located in Yatai Shopping Mall, Dongguandajie.
　　5) Colourful-lantern Street for Muslim distinctive culture: In order to express Muslim culture and dietary habits and to be in harmony with Dongguan Mosque, Colorful-lantern Street for Muslim distinctive culture will be set up between Huangguang and Xining Building.
　　6) Halal Food Street: The Dazhong Street will be divided into two parts, namely Halal Snake Region and Halal Pastry Region between 18:00 and 23:00 on Oct. 10-13. Various kinds of Halal foods are offered for tasting.
　　7) In order to promote Halal food to local residents and tourists, International Halal Food Halls will be established in both Qinghai Xiadu Department Store and Yijiale Muslim Supermarket.
